Born and raised right here in Lincoln, Nebraska, senior biomedical science student, Ella Foster, is ready to take the next step in the path God has planned for her. After wrestling with where to put her passion her whole college career, she is graduating with a bachelor鈥檚 in biomedical science with an emphasis in pre-physical therapy.
Growing up with both parents being nurses and loving the sciences, the medical track seemed like the obvious choice for Foster. After graduation, she would like to pursue her master鈥檚 degree in public health right here at Union.
Foster went to College View Academy. During her junior and senior years, she took college courses at Union making her overall time at Union technically six years. One of those years was spent as a student missionary in Palawan, Philippines.
鈥淢y student missionary experience changed my life and how I see the world; it was amazing and hard. During my time there, my eyes were opened to see how God works in my life and the lives of others around me. Now, I see Him in all aspects of my life.鈥
Foster came to Union with her friends and with the desire to join the gymnastics team. While here, she has made some great memories and enjoyed her education.
鈥淚’ve enjoyed the family atmosphere of Union, I love that I can talk to any of my professors when I have questions, and I am surrounded by good mentors and friends who care about me as a person.鈥
As graduation nears, Foster has some advice for those who are just beginning their college journey.
鈥淢y advice to freshmen is that it’s OK to change your major, emphasis, whatever. Try new things and get involved to learn more about what you like to do. College is a place where you can figure out what you want to do. It鈥檚 OK if you don’t have it all figured out when you start. Enjoy your time and trust the process.鈥
